Surat-al-Qadr:1-5

While the best way to seek opuit this blessed day is to go fo i'tikaf (seclusion in Mosque)...most of us arent priviliged enough to seclude ourself for ten days (yes, sad to say, this is the miserable state of Imaan of the Ummah today).
So, here are a few signs of the Laylat ul Qadr...physical signs that you might want to keep notice to make extra worship on that night...

a) Sun rises early in the morning without rays.
b)Rain may fall either during day or night of that night.
c)During night the sky will be slightly foggy.
d)The sky will be slightly lighted withoutreflection and without rays
e)The angels  and Jibrail a.s. all descend dont to earth for many purposes.

Some activities adviced on this day are...

i)Reciting Qur'an
ii)Nafl prayers after taraweeh
iii)Zikr
iv)Making Du'a for self and others
v)Ponder and contemplate on the universe and the creation of Heavens and earth.
vi)Read the book of Hadith
vii)Read Tafseer al-Qur'an
viii)Give alms (sadaqah) if you have the means to do so
ix)Share your knowledge of Islam with others and listen to what they know.

and an interesting fact aboutthe gift Laylat ul Qadr to the Nation of Muhammad s.a.w.

Muhammad s.a.w. was very saddened by the fact that his ummah will not have long lives compared to the nations of the past...like Nabi Adam a.s.,Nabi Ibraheem a.s. ...etc. He was sad since even if his ummah spend their whole life in worship of Allah, they will not be able to equalise of even surpass the woship done by the believers of the past.So, Allah granted the Ummah of Muhammad s.a.w. a gift...a gift of the Night of Powers which is equal to 1000 months. Assuming a Muslim can take full benefit of 10 nights of power, his worship will be equilavent to over 800 yrs of worship..hence making him almost on par with Nabi Adam a.s.

Yes...you should switch off the computer right this moment and go do some worship...as I should too.lol..
